Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It is an unofficial shopping frenzy holiday where stores sell their goods for half off or with steep discounts. Now I would think that with measures like these, these stores would lose huge profits doing this. So how is Black Friday one of the most profitable days for these companies? One of the reasons they don't is due to the fact of the amount of sales. The sales attract customers that wouldn't be there if not for the sale. Additionally, even though a small loss is made due to the fact of the low prices, the retailers replace this loss by an increase in buys. This strategic pricing encourages customers to purchase more items than they originally planned too. Thus making added profit.
