As the issue of American Economics becomes more polarized, America's left wing has sought to Trojan Horse the rhetoric of Socialism through the idolatry of Scandinavian Economic Systems. This post discusses three problems with the growth of rhetoric concerning this rise in rhetoric: Scandinavian Systems are not Socialist, the Scandinavian Systems fail to innovate and invent, and the American prescription of liberty is far better then what any country has to offer.
First and foremost, Scandinavian Systems are not Socialist. The reality of Socialism is a destruction of the promise of private property. Not only is this nullification a necessary condition of Socialism; it is the sole purpose. Scandinavian countries not only do not participate in the destruction of private property, but they protect their citizens' rights to maintain it. Rather, Scandinavian countries seek to nationalize a few aspects of the economy to supposedly, "better maintain it."
When these Scandinavian Countries do nationalize particular sectors of the economy, hardly any invention or innovation happens in those sectors. There is a reason why Scandinavian countries have not produced any ground breaking breaking research, because there is little incentive. Profit is the only way to massively incentivize individuals to come up with new products.
The American System does this far better. Mainly because America's approach to the problem of scarcity is two pronged. First, America recognizes its role as the world hegemon. With this recognition comes a great deal of responsibility. If the world collapses, America will most likely be involved in its collapse. Second, America is defined by its ability to make an earning based on individual invention and innovation. In America, as opposed to Scandinavian Systems, people change the world with inventions made in their garage.
