Whenever I’ve learned about trade and exchange in school, I always thought it was boring and ya know not a big deal. After all trade, I mean who cares about that? I didn’t realize how important trade was until after reading The King Elephant and the Mice comic that Professor Baugus had us read. After reading, I did some research about trade and exchange in the US. From the office of United States Trade Representative, “The United States is the world's largest economy and the largest exporter and importer of goods and services.”
Trade appears to be critical for America to prosper. In fact, many countries benefit from trade. Trade allows countries to trust and grow with one another. Trade is important because it gives consumers a greater purchasing power, in other words it gives our country a great purchasing power. Trade is what fuels economical growth in America. Trade and exchange might not seem like such a big deal but without it our country would not be able to prosper like it does today.
For example, the United States has 43 billion dollars left over from agricultural trade which employs over 1.5 million American workers. Agricultural Trade increased a 350$ billion export since the year of 2014. Trade and exchange provides America with great financial support, it also provides millions if not billions of jobs for the people of the United States. In conclusion even though trade seems like a small thing, trade is a central part of our country. It is an important part for fueling our countries economical growth. Trade supports jobs, raises living standards, and provides American families with affordable goods. https://ustr.gov/about-us/benefits-trade
