Over the last decade or so gun control has been a very hot topic in the United States. We have had numerous mass shootings from movie theaters to schools, and there seems to be no end in sight. Although there are some Federal laws concerning the subject, each state can make their gun laws more or less restrictive as they see fit. This past April Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill that has made it legal for the residents of Georgia to conceal carry without a license. What does this mean? It means that in Georgia a background check to conceal carry in public is no longer needed. With the rise in gun related violence in the state there are nay, roughly 70% of residents that are opposed to this new law. The possible rise in gun violence is evident, but this may also become a deterrent to the would-be criminals that no longer know who is carrying.
