I just recently bought a new xbox series s. It was relatively cheap gaming consul costing 300 dollars compared to the PS5 and the Xbox series X that cost about 1,000 dollars due to short supply chains. Upon buying the system I had to buy a game? If I didn't then I wouldn't be able to play a game. I could either shell out 60 dollars to buy a game or get it for free if I pay 14.99 a month. I forgot to mention that the Game Pass doesn't just come with one free game but a multitude of free games that would cost me 50-60 dollars each. It is essentially a game rental system. I also get to play online with other people for free. When I bought the subscription I don't actually own the game which is the only downside because certain games could leave the game pass. In terms of opportunity cost I saw that the subscription was worth my money and not buying the game outright. I choose to buy the subscription because it provided a better service.
