There is a new Covid 19 strain and it is called the omicron variant. According to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the new Omicron variety may someday become the dominant strain, and scientists are still trying to find out how it works but the predominant Delta variant is the more alarming right now. The FDA explained that "We now have approximately 86,000 Covid cases diagnosed daily in the United States, and 99.9 percent of them, the vast majority of them, continue to be Delta — and we know what we need to do against Delta, which is get vaccinated, get boosted if eligible, and continue all of those prevention measures, including masking." "And those are quite likely to act against the Omicron type," Walensky explained to the chief medical reporter. Even though scientists do not know what it is or where it came from, scientists do know about the preliminary data and mutation data. This could indicate that this may be a more transmissible version than Delta. So this is going to take some time to sort out sadly. After finding out about the new virus, I just hope that it doesn't get any worse and I pray that everything can go back to normal.
