As you and others have noted in their discussion, the pandemic has imposed many adverse effects around the globe, especially in the supply and demand arena, where the decreased labor and unemployment continue to rise as inflation soars, causing a decrease in lavish spending. There is no doubt that the fear and uncertainty during the recovery process from the pandemic play a considerable role where banks can be hesitant to new loans without the backed securities of the Federal Reserve. Your post mentioned that the Bank of Japan conducts monetary policy using ‘open market operations.’ According to Cowen & Tabarrok (2021), “the purchase of bonds by the Federal Reserve leads to a ripple process of increasing deposits and loans, which increase the reserves into other banks which allow these other banks to make more deposits and more loans” (p. 738). Hello Timothy, I enjoyed reading your views regarding the Ford Motor Company. I thought you covered the topics very well with great detail. I found it interesting to learn how the Ford Motor Company and probably many others switched their production from gas-fueled vehicles to electric to meet the newer market demand of electric cars, especially in this modern world. I once watched a movie about the Ford Motor Company, starring Jeff Bridges as Henry Ford that encompassed the struggles of building a new vehicle. It is interesting to see the growth from the beginning to the present. I found it surprising, however, that Ford has remained local, only to the North American region. Great post!

Hello Will, I enjoyed reading your views regarding Coca-Cola and found it fascinating to learn the many factors that affect company growth and performance, such as covid-19, recession, inflation, and the overall effectiveness of the worldwide economy. According to Coca-Cola (2022), contributing factors to the company’s overall growth resulted from investments in acquisitions from 2019 to 2021. “In November 2021, the Company acquired the remaining ownership interest in, and now owns 100 percent of BodyArmor, which offers a line of sports performance and hydration beverages in the United States” (Earnings Release, p. 71).
